Connecticut native & 30-year Field Operations veteran Don Scacco to succeed retiring President Steve Sullivan

BERLIN, Conn. (May 14, 2026) – Eversource is pleased to announce that Don Scacco will become the next President of Connecticut Electric Operations, succeeding Steve Sullivan who is retiring following a long and distinguished career at the energy company. Scacco – a lifelong Connecticut resident and seasoned veteran of the company with more than 30 years of increasing leadership responsibilities – will oversee electric operations and system maintenance in the state while heading a dedicated, cross-functional team focused on addressing the needs of customers, communities and key stakeholders across Connecticut.

"I'm incredibly honored to lead the operations team in the state I love and call home, and I'm eager to continue working with our highly skilled employees every day to achieve exceptional safety and reliability performance for our customers while maintaining our laser-focus on affordability," said Scacco. "As someone who's lived and worked in Connecticut my entire life, I truly understand how our customers and communities depend on a safe, reliable electric grid for their everyday success, as well as the strong expectations they have for efficient restorations with every storm. I look forward to collaborating with our dedicated team and state partners to not only meet their expectations but ensure that our collective energy future in Connecticut is one that everyone can benefit from."

Scacco currently serves as Vice President of Electric Field Operations in Connecticut, overseeing the safe operation of the electric distribution system and projects that improve the reliability of the grid for customers. He built his career in the Nutmeg State, holding a variety of strategic leadership positions across both the distribution and transmission sides of Eversource's electric business and spanning organizations including Electric Operations, Engineering, and Customer Operations. Scacco also brings extensive experience of storm response to his new position as president, playing a critical role in major restorations in the company's history including the unprecedented responses to the 2011 storms, Superstorm Sandy, and Tropical Storm Isaias.

"Don has been an integral part of our team for decades, and as a Connecticut native, he has a true appreciation and love for the state as well as a profound understanding of our customers' needs," said Eversource Chairman, President and CEO Joe Nolan. "With his unwavering focus on safety, strong experience in storm response, and natural ability to empower our workforce, I have full confidence that he will do an outstanding job leading our Connecticut operations in the years ahead. As we congratulate Don on his new role, I also want to extend my sincere appreciation to Steve for his leadership and immense contributions to our company, and I wish him the very best in his retirement."

"After nearly four decades at Eversource, I'm heading into my next chapter with deep gratitude and pride," said Sullivan. "I've had the privilege of working alongside remarkably talented people who care deeply about our mission and doing things the right way for our customers, and I leave confident knowing that our Connecticut team is in excellent hands with Don at the helm."

Scacco, a husband and father of two, lives with his family in the greater Waterbury area. He has been an active participant in numerous Eversource task forces, teams, and committees and has served in various industry board roles while supporting local charitable organizations. Scacco earned his undergraduate degree from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire and his graduate degree from the Mercy College School of Business in New York.

In Sullivan's nearly 40 years at Eversource, he has held various leadership positions in the company's Operations organization, becoming President of Connecticut Electric Operations in 2021. Since then, he has worked to strengthen relationships with customers, communities, and key stakeholders through increased outreach and visibility. Under Sullivan's leadership, Eversource has executed many successful storm restoration efforts, as well as expanded engagement with municipal and emergency management leaders and reinforced workforce and community partnerships, including support for electric lineworker training programs with local community colleges. Sullivan has also been a strong presence in the community through partnerships with Special Olympics and the United Way.

Scacco will take his new position July 6.
