As warmer weather arrives in Connecticut and customers start cranking up the air conditioner to beat the heat, a new lower Standard Service supply rate was filed today with Connecticut's Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) that would go into effect July 1. The new Standard Service rate for residential customers receiving energy supply through Eversource would change from the current 11.19 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to 9.75 cents per kWh starting July 1. Bill help financial assistance energy efficiency

With the warm summer months on the horizon, Eversource is reminding customers of the various options available to help them manage their energy bills with financial assistance, flexible payment plans and energy efficiency programs. The company is hosting a free in-person event for residents in Waterbury on Saturday, April 12th. Eversource customer care representatives will provide details on programs to reduce unpaid balances with affordable monthly payments, protection from service disconnection, extended payment plans and no- and low-cost energy efficiency programs available to help lower monthly energy bills. Enrollment and participation in a payment plan prevents service shutoff - even after the winter moratorium ends - and allows customers to catch up on their energy bill.
