ConnectedSolutions+ Pilot Program

A new pilot offering increased incentives for a limited time in select Massachusetts neighborhoods

About The Pilot

Qualifying residents can earn rewards for helping support a reliable electric grid.

This pilot tests new ways to support local reliability through small, temporary adjustments to devices customers already own. Your participation helps lower demand, reduce the need for local generators, and supports clean, reliable energy in your community.

Events are brief and designed to maintain comfort. You'll remain in control of your device settings, and you can override or opt out of an event at any time.

Getting Started with Increased Incentives

ConnectedSolutions+ is available to residents in select locations: 

  • The Greater Boston pilot is available in Alewife, Dorchester, Mattapan, West Roxbury, Hyde Park and town of Milton
  • The Southeastern Massachusetts pilot is available to certain residents in Freetown, Lakeville, New Bedford, Dartmouth and Acushnet. Currently only customer owned Tesla batteries are eligible in this region.

You must be an existing Eversource customers to participate.

Greater Boston Pilot

Termostatos inteligentes

During a peak energy event, your thermostat may adjust by a few degrees to help shift energy demand. These changes are temporary and designed to maintain your comfort.

  • $150 upfront incentive for new participants, $50 upfront incentive for existing ConnectedSolutions thermostat participants
  • $20 incentive after each summer
  • 10–20 events per season (typically around 15)
  • Events can take place between 2 and 10 p.m. from June though September

Battery Storage Systems

If you have a qualifying home battery system, you can earn incentives for allowing your battery to automatically discharge during peak energy events.

  • $400 per kW performance incentive
  • 40 to 60 events annually (typically around 40)
  • Events can take place between 2 and 10 p.m. from June though September
  • You can always opt out of an event

Systems made by the following manufacturers are eligible:

  • Fortress
  • Generac
  • Panasonic
  • Sol-Ark
  • Solar Edge
  • Sunnova
  • Sunrun
  • Tesla
  • Q-Cells

Southeastern Massachusetts Pilot

Battery Storage Systems

If you own a Tesla home battery system, you can earn incentives for allowing your battery to automatically discharge during peak energy events.

Your battery will charge during midday, when solar energy is abundant, and will discharge during peak energy events.

  • Summer season (June to September) - $275 per kW performance incentive
  • Spring (April, May) and Fall (October, November) - $100 per kW performance incentive, per season
  • 100-150 events (typically 75)
  • Battery charging window: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Available only with select battery manufacturers in 2026
